Organization
The Learning Disabilities Association of Montana was incorporated in 1985 as the "Montana Association for Children & Adults with Learning Disabilities." Directors were Ellen Alweis, of Billings, and Ruth vanEttinger and Carole Spahr, of Great Falls. The name was amended in 1991 to be the "Learning Disabilities Association of Montana, Inc." At that time, Maureen Ferrell was president and Ellen Alweis was secretary.

The current board of directors is Susan Ogden, Mark Taylor, and Theresa Winslow. As of July 5, 2005, interim officers are:
The plan is that once membership has achieved a large enough number that a regular election of officers will occur. We need to have 25 dues-paying members in order to be recognized as an "affiliate in good standing" of the Learning Disabilities Association of America.
